Let’s take you back to 1985.

One of the biggest TV shows that featured music and young people dancing was American Bandstand starring Dick Clark. The show began airring in 1952 and always featured performances and new music from upcoming artists.

In the early 80’s, hip hop was starting to make noise with the Queens New York crew Run DMC.

In a classic interview moment from American Bandstand, Run DMC with Jam Master J talked about the future of the group and their upcoming movie role. They hope to make more movies in the future as well as music. They also hope that the world would get to a place where it understands rap music and gives it respect.

Check that classic interview.
