Rick Ross is more than qualified to pass on some advice to Meek Mill, who has spent the past few months navigating the tricky and murky world of a rap beef with Drake.

Rozay has had his fair share of rifts with others in the industry, including 50 Cent and Jeezy, the former perhaps being his most illustrious and most certainly his longest.

The Bawse recently caught up with MTV on the set of his “Sorry” music video, the first single off his forthcoming album Black Market.

During the conversation, Rick Ross opened up about his thoughts on the whole Meek Mill-Drake rift, which has dominated hip-hop headlines for much of the summer.

“A lot of people have a lot of their own opinions,” he said. “But I’ve been in certain positions where people told me not to do that and I would do it again, if I had to. To me, that’s what the art is about. I feel like whatever it is you gonna do, if your heart is into it, that’s what you gotta do. That goes for whatever it is.”

So, what advice did Ross offer to his MMG artist?

“You do what you wanna do,” Rozay replied when asked. “You express yourself with your music the way you want to do it whenever you’re ready to do it.”

Elsewhere in the conversation, Rozay spoke his next full-length LP, Black Market, which is scheduled for a December release. He expects the project to be the most powerful of his career.

“The album is most definitely my most sincere, maybe my most powerful yet,” Ross explained. “It’s about me really opening my mind up past making music that I just wanna hear in the club, but actually having discussions with motherf–kers that they may actually absorb and understand what I’m talking about.”
