President Of Zimbabwe To Create New Labor Laws To Curb Unlawful Unemployment

Robert Mugabe, President of Zimbabwe, is making an about turn in his country’s labor laws now that his country has seen 20,000 workers lose their jobs in the last four weeks alone. The  unemployment hike-one that is already on top of Zimbabwe’s 11 to 60 percent jobless population-was prompted by a recent court ruling that allowed employers to let go of workers without severance packages if employees are given three month’s notice. Mugabe’s objective is to bar employers from using the new court decision as justification for randomly firing people to boost profits. Read more at Quartz.
