For many years, hip-hop fans from all over wondered if the front man for The Roots, Black Thought, would ever release a solo project.

There have been many rumors, and concepts of solo projects in the past hinted from Black Thought (Dangerous Thoughts, Masterpiece Theater, Talented Mr. Trotter), but nothing ever materialized into an actual album.

However, last night Black Thought revealed that this may change sooner than we thought. When asked on Twitter if he was ever going to release a solo project, the 43 year old Philadelphia legend responded, “Yes. Working on it. Next time someone asks this, you gotta answer for me!”

Time will only tell if anything ever comes to fruition, but I think we can speak for all hip-hop fans alike that this is something long over due, and would be another major contribution to hip-hop in an already booming 2015.
