On this date in 1993, the introduction to Mobb Deep officially took place as the duo released their debut album Juvenile Hell.
Mobb Deep, made up of Havoc and Prodigy, have always been known for their hardcore gritty New York rap sound. Both emcees were only 19 years old at the time of the release. The 14-track album delivered singles like “Peer Pressure” and “Hit It from the Back.”

The album took many critics off guard due to the real and rawness Mobb Deep displayed, but they continued to stay true to themselves, and 2 years later, The Infamous was born to great reviews. Mobb Deep did a lot for the hardcore hip hop sound that took over the airwaves in the 90’s, and are still considered one of the best duo’s to come out of hip-hop.
