A man in China was forced with a decision that might leave some men between a rock and a hard place.

According to Metro, 21-year-old Wu Hsia was forced to choose between saving his new girlfriend, Rong Tsao, or his ex-girlfriend, Jun Tang, after the two jumped into a river in Eastern China to test his loyalty.

The site reports Hsia saying:

‘I was sick of being nagged from both sides. Rong was moaning about Jun and Jun was moaning about her and it all go too much.

The three headed for the river, and a police spokesman reveals what happened when they got there:

‘The girls began arguing and the man’s ex-girlfriend felt insulted by a comment made by the new girlfriend, and so she jumped into the river calling for her former lover to save her.

‘The new girlfriend, fearing that he might indeed jump in to save his ex-lover, then jumped in as well and both of them within calling for him to rescue them from drowning.’

Hsia ended up saving his current girlfriend, Rong, and then ended up taking her to the hospital as he left Jun Tang behind. He then called his brother to come and save her, but instead, called the fire brigade to save her.

A rescue worker told the site:

‘She was taken to hospital but was released soon after without any major injuries.’
