Philly rapper Cool C real name Christopher Roney, was granted a stay of execution by Philly Judge L. Felipe Restrepo.
The rapper has been on death row since 1996 for murdering a police officer. He and another Philly rapper, Steady B, attempted to rob a bank, and shot and killed officer Lauretha Vaird, according to All Hip Hop. He was slated to be executed Jan 8th
