The Philadelphia School District has been in the news often lately, with the closing of  almost 40 schools in the city. Students have been relocated to schools in different neighborhoods causing numerous incidents of teen violence and bullying. Even with all the changes, never could we imagine a situation worse than the one which took place at William C. Bryant Elementary School in West Philadelphia.

According to Philly.com, a nine-year-old transfer student was terrorized by his classmates so bad that he attempted suicide more than once and even prayed to God that his life be taken. The boy was repeatedly attacked while attending school, even being sexually assaulted in the bathroom, with one of the students trying to rape the young boy.

According to Philadelphia Police the boy’s three classmates were charged with attempted rape, indecent assault, unlawful restraint and other related counts. The boy’s mother has filed a lawsuit with the Philadelphia School District.

The question here is who is to blame for this unspeakable act?
