Who Are All These Artists On The Roots Picnic Bill?!?!? Meet Emily Wells….

OK so let’s have an honest moment.  As excited as you are about this year’s Roots Picnic you really don’t know at least half of these artists on the bill.  It’s ok you are not along.  Don’t tell anyone, but neither do I lol.  Listen every year I have this same conversation with Questlove, like “who are all these people”.  He generally responds “just watch you’re gonna love it Laiya”.  I hate to admit but he is generally right.  But how about we get to know these folks before the show.  This way we can decide ahead of time who we really like!  So here is my attempt.  I start at the bottom of the poster with Emily Wells…

Emily Wells is a Brooklyn performer, producer, singer and composer known for her varied use of classical and modern instrumentation as well as her deft approach to live sampling at shows. Classically trained as a violinist, she also plays drums, keys, beat machines and whatever else she can fit in her road case.  So let’s see what shes got!
