Don’t Ignore Your Leaky Car [Original]

Leaking oil from a car is never a good thing. It can be small and not really noticeable or large and dripping on the ground in your parking spot. All cars eventually leak oil as parts on cars wear and become damaged. If you know you have an oil leak, please don’t ignore it. Have a mechanic check it out and give you a quote for how much it will cost to repair.

If the repair costs more than your budget will allow, you will need to keep an eye on your oil leak. Depending on how much your car is leaking, you will need to check the oil level frequently and add oil as needed. Never let the oil level get down to low or nothing! Remember the vagina blog! Keep at least a quart of oil in your trunk so you can add it if you know you have a leak Frequency of how often to check is based on the size of the leak. I would check it everyday until you understand how much oil you are losing.

How do you check your oil? There is an oil dipstick under the hood and it usually has a yellow or orange top to it.

– Make sure your car is OFF and on level ground.

– Pull out the dipstick, wipe it off, re-insert it, and pull it out one more time.

– Read the level of the oil. It should never be below the hashes, the lower dot, the L or the MIN on the dipstick. It should be between the hashes or close to full,     up towards the F or MAX on the dipstick.

– If it is low put at least 1 quart of oil in the car. DO NOT OVER FILL above the F or Max
