In recent news reports, concerns of a possible threat to Temple University have placed students and officials on alert.

Temple Police has contacted the Philadelphia Police Department and FBI and have been conducting an investigation into graffiti messages found in the men’s bathroom in Gladfelter Hall.

According to reports from Fox 29 News, the messages referenced the attacks at Columbine High School and alluded to an event to happen on that anniversary, April, 20th saying “April 20th you will all learn the meaning of suffering.”

With the past school shootings in Sandy Hook and recent suicide attempts more close to Temple campus and students, these messages are not to be taken lightly. Even more eyes are now open as Temple students await annual Spring Fling celebrations and Commencement in the coming weeks.

Temple University and the Temple Police has sent an advisory for students and faculty through email alerting students to take precaution and that their is a heightened presence of security.
