Lebron-James-heat-getty

Members of the 71-72 Los Angeles Lakers are breathing easier this morning as their record of 33 consecutive regular season wins remains intact– until next season.  The Chicago Bulls halted the Miami Heat’s impressive win streak of 27 games last night in the United Center with a 101 to 97 victory.

Despite an impressive stat line from LeBron James (32 points 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, 4 blocks) the Bulls were still too much for the defending champs. Luol Deng scored 28 points, Carlos Boozer added 21 points and 17 rebounds to keep the Heat out of the history books.  Despite being frustrated over the officiating, James put the streak in proper perspective.

“We haven’t had a chance to really have a moment to know what we just did,” James said. “We had a moment, just very fortunate, very humbling and blessed to be part of this team and be part of a streak like that.”

The Heat will try to bounce back against the New Orleans Hornets on Friday night in The Big Easy.
