Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson defeats Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning in the 2012 MVP voting to win his first NFL MVP award. He had 30 1/2 of the possible 50 votes there were for the award voted on by the media. Adrian Peterson won the award a year after tearing his ACL, which ended his season abruptly last year. He added this award to the NFL Offensive player of the year award that he won earlier today.
