UPDATE: 2/24/19 11am R.Kelly spent a second night in jail. He does not have the money to post bail. He is due back in court on Monday. On Saturday he had to turn in his passport and he can not have any contact with the alleged victims or anyone 18 years old or younger. You can read more here
Friday night R. Kelly turned himself in to police and spent the night in jail. This afternoon he went before a judge and his bail was set at $1 million dollars. Cook County District Attorney Kim Foxx said that 2 of the 4 alleged victims turned in physical evidence. They turned in shirts with R. Kelly’s semen on them.
Each criminal sexual abuse charge in Illinois carries a max sentence of 3 to 7 years in jail. Michael Avenatti who is representing one of the victims says he plans to not only go after R. Kelly but he plans to go after everyone he deems an enabler-lawyers, managers, agents, etc
