13 year old Nevaeh Robinson was a victim of a vicious bullying attack. An 8th grade classmate set her hair on fire using a lighter. She was able to pat her hair until the fire was out, while the other classmates laughed. “When it happened, I panicked real fast, because I thought I was going to die because it burned my hair so fast,” she said.

Nevaeh suffered first degree burns and her mother is calling for those responsible for the bullying to be expelled.

I called the police as soon as they came home, took her to the hospital, the fire chief came out. I’ve spoken to the school district, I’ve spoken to the principal at the school,” her mother said, “I want expulsion if you’re setting kids on fire.”

Philadelphia police have deemed this completely unacceptable are are investigating the case. “We cannot comment on specific instances of school discipline, however this type of violence is unacceptable. School District did follow its policy and procedure on this matter,” they said in a statement.
