Michael Jackson’s estate is suing the Walt Disney Co for allegedly using footage without permission for it’s tv special, ‘ The Last Days Of Michael Jackson’ which aired last week and attracted of 5 million viewers.

According to TMZ, Disney claimed the footage was to be used for a documentary but Jackson’s estate doesn’t feel like the special was documentary format, rather, “it was simply a mediocre look back at Michael Jackson’s life and entertainment career.”

“Can you imagine using Disney’s intellectual property, like Mickey Mouse, Cinderella, Star Wars, The Avengers, Toy Story, and so many other works without asking Disney’s permission or getting a license? The Estate has no choice but to vigorously protect its intellectual property, which is the lifeblood of its business,” said Howard Weitzman, Michael Jackson’s estate attorney.
