It was only a matter of time right? It seems as if Serena Williams cannot stay out of the negative light everytime she wins. Whether it’s a bad remark made during an interview, post-win celebration, recording a rap song, or finding herself on YouTube dancing in someone’s house (we won’t say any names) *cough*. After winning gold at the 2012 Olympics in London, Serena Williams pumped her fist, jumped up and down, and for about 10-12 seconds dipped into a crip walk dance session. I couldn’t stop laughing, I didn’t see it as a sign of disrespect it was moreso, “wow did she just do that? Bwahahahaha”

Fox Sports writer Jason Whitlock wrote and I quote,
“Serena deserved to be criticized and she should’ve immediately apologized. Wimbledon isn’t the place to break out a dance popularized by California Crip gang members.”
Now we all know where she’s from and in the moment it appeared to be just a celebratory dance and she looked up at Venus right after and had a laugh about it. Was it wrong? I’d had to say yes, it was top notch coonery and I had a laugh about it for about an hour Saturday morning. Check out the video for yourself here. We love you Serena either way. Go USA!
