A freshman at the University of Hartford by the name of Chennel “Jazzy” Rowe was poisoned by her roommate because of the color of her skin. A white student by the name of Brianna Brochu, also a freshman at the University of Hartford, has been arrested after bragging about harassing her roommate.

Over the course of a month and a half, Brochu had spit in Rowe’s coconut oil, poured moldy clam dip in her lotion, rubbed used tampons on her backpack, and put her toothbrush in her rectum.

In a Facebook video, Jazzy Rowe spoke on the shocking allegations.

She reveals that she felt herself “getting sick” in the midst of being harassed by her roommate. She went on to say “It started with throat pain” […] “I thought maybe because it’s colder up here, I’m just catching a cold. After a month it got to the point where I had extreme throat pain that I couldn’t sleep, to the point where I couldn’t speak.” She further explained “I’m spending my own money that my parents give me for food and groceries, the health centre on campus is not free – in fact they’re expensive.”

After visiting health services on campus, she was prescribed antibiotics for the bacteria in her throat. As the harassment progressed, Rowe eventually got fed up and decided to move out.

After she moved out, Brochu went on to brag about her disgusting methods of getting rid of her roommate who she referred to as “Jamaican Barbie” on Instagram.

Her comments said “Finally did it yo girl got rid of her roommate!! After 1 1/12 month of spitting in her coconut oil, putting moldy clam dip in her lotions, rubbing used tampons on her backpack, putting her toothbrush places where the sun doesn’t shine and so much more I can finally say goodbye Jamaican Barbie.”

The University has confirmed that Brochu has since been arrested and called the reports “disturbing.” They added that the incident will “strictly follow our disciplinary process.”

We’re still waiting on comments and more details from both Rowe and Brochu. We’ll keep you updated on this story.
