69th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards - Arrivals

African-Americans were represented well last-night by actors and actresses Donald Glover, Sterling K. Brown and Lena Waithe. All three made history at the 2017 EMMYs, Glover being the first black to win outstanding directing for a comedy series, Brown being the first black person in 20 years to win an Emmy for lead actor in a drama and Waithe being the first black woman to win an Emmy for comedy writing.
