Mary J. Blige Not Good Enough For Kentucky?

It seems that Mary J. Blige is getting no love from residents of Kentucky!  The rnb singer is scheduled to perform the National Anthem at the annual Kentucky Derby horse racing event.  The locals are concerned that Mary J. Blige may add her own “flavor” to the national anthem rather than sing the song verbatim as it was first recorded and that doesn’t sit well them.   At a local radio station one caller suggested this :

“Is somebody going to ensure that Mary J. Blige performs the National Anthem at the Kentucky Derby the way it is ‘supposed’ to be sung?  I think all performers should be instructed to sing the anthem as it was originally recorded and not add their own flair to our National Anthem.  I have nothing against Mary J. Blige, but I prefer our National Anthem ‘original.’” -EURWEB
