In February during Work with Karen its Black HER-Story Month where we are celebrating Black History month with #SheFacts of female trailblazers.

Why We Love Her: Donyale Luna was stunning in front and behind the camera. She is one the originators who showed the world just why black is beautiful.. She made the black women features the it factor during her time and is the reason every women can say my black is beautiful.

Stats: Born Peggy Freemen, August 31,1945 in Detroit, Michigan. and Died May 17, 1979 in Italy.

Ladies First: Donyale was the first black super model to appear on the cover of Vogue Magazine. She appeared on the British issued magazine in 1966.

Impact: Although; she passed too soon, she left behind a industry that became more welcoming and accepting to black female models. She set a standard for all Black Female Models especially those who grace the cover of Vogue and the many black women to come. She is a black girl that rocks!

Happy Black History Month!
