The 2017 NFL Draft will be held on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. The NFL will build a structure specifically for the event to safeguard against the possibility of inclement weather.
Philadelphia has hosted the NFL Draft many times in the past, but not since 1960 at the Warwick Hotel.
MAN DRESSED IN WOMEN’S CLOTHING ROBS BANK
Police are looking for a bank robbery suspect described as a man dressed in women’s clothing.
The suspect who was also carrying a purse was caught on surveillance video at the Vist Bank located at 1210 Rockland Street in Reading PA.
Police say the suspect handed the teller a note demanding money. After receiving an undisclosed amount of money, the suspect fled on foot.
McDonald’s Giving Away SEPTA Tokens On Thursday
McDonald’s will be giving away SEPTA tokens Thursday at the Broad Street Line’s Walnut-Locust Station for the Eagles’ last preseason game.
The fast-food chain will be giving away $5,000 worth of tokens between 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. as part of its NFL sponsorship.
The game will start at 7 p.m. as the Eagles’ take on the New York Jets.
Medical Providers To Merge With Uber
For people without access to private transportation, getting to medical appointments can be a challenge, especially if they have chronic conditions that require frequent appointments.
Partnerships between ride-hailing companies like Uber and Lyft and hospitals are emerging around the country making the trips easier and, in some cases, it is even covered by Medicaid and other insurance plans.
While the efforts are still small, some local hospitals and medical transportation providers think the potential for growth is large.
