New York City was buzzing this weekend in celebration of The Notorious B.I.G.’s birthday.

In honor of the legendary Clinton-Hill raised lyricist, Brooklyn borough president Eric L. Adams, made May 21 officially Christopher “The Notorious B.I.G.” Wallace Day. The momentous occasion comes on what would have been his 44th birthday.

For the announcement, former Junior M.A.F.I.A. group member Lil Cease was in attendance along with B.I.G.’s daughter, T’Yanna Wallace. The pair posed with Adams and the citation making it official.

Soon after it was off to the Barclays Center, for the first two nights of the Bad Boy Family Reunion Tour, headed by label executive Sean “P. Diddy” Combs.

The first night’s lineup included Mase, 112, Carl Thomas, Faith Evans, Busta Rhymes, Lil Kim, Total, Mary J Blige, Nas, French Montana, Rick Ross and Usher. Brooklyn’s own, Jay Z also performed, making it his first performance in over a year since the On The Run Tour ended. They performed a medley of old and new hits, joining in chorus with the excited crowd.

Here’s a couple highlights from that night:

And the second night was just as epic with performances from DMX, Fabolous, Swizz Beatz and Black Rob.

The Bad Boy Family Reunion tour will pick up again in July, with their first stop being New Orleans for the Essence Music Festival. Find out more information, here.
