Who wants to spend Martin Luther King Day with Creed’s Michael B. Jordan and Ryan Coogler?

Thanks to Blackout for Human Rights and the Campaign for Black Male Achievement, you can join them and many other prominent Black actors and artists.

Held at Harlem’s iconic Riverside Church, the same place where Dr. Martin Luther King delivered his 1967 speech “Beyond Vietnam: A Time To Break Silence,” “MLK Now” will celebrate the icon’s legacy, but also explore how Dr. King’s vision is being played out now “in today’s racial, social and political landscape,” notes the event’s press release.

The Jan 18 commemoration will be a mix of actors and activists reading passages of MLK’s from famous and empowering speeches, musical performances and panel discussions about pertinent issues affecting African-Americans such as mass incarceration, social inequality, the overpolicing of Black bodies and the state of activism in Black America.

Sounds pretty amazing, but wait until you see this incredible line-up:

  • Harry Belafonte
  • Chris Rock
  • Octavia Spencer
  • J. Cole
  • Anika Noni Rose
  • Bilal
  • India Arie
  • Tessa Thompson
  • Adepero Oduye
  • Saul Williams
  • Condola Rashad
  • Andre Holland and many more

And the hype has really been building:

Even better, the cannot-miss event is FREE. Get your tickets here.

Can’t make it or don’t live in NYC? No worries. The festivities will be live streamed here so you can watch it in the comfort of your own home.
