After waiting for about 12 hours for this to drop yesterday, at 11:05PM I went to the-weeknd.com and there it was, Echoes of Silence, with the download link. The anticipation for this project was ridiculous, fans were begging for it on Twitter, Facebook, and forums all over the internet yesterday. His sound, as unique as it is, hits you with ambient sounds and near to flawless engineering matched with his falsetto stories of love, lust, and heartbreak is altogether a perfect sit back and chill album.
You wouldn’t think with that much of a buzz The Weeknd would make this available FREE of charge but hey, he must love the support of his fans. The Canadian artist who recently was featured on his OVOXO partner Drake’s song “Crew Love”, on the “Take Care” project has over 250,000 followers on his twitter and countless fans all over. He is said to have recently turned down a $7 million dollar deal. Who needs it right?
