Only time will tell but from the way things have gone for the Philadelphia Eagles in the last two weeks this team has come together on the defensive side of the ball. They’re starting to resemble that Philadelphia tuff defensive persona from years past.

It should come as no surprise that as the defense seemed to finally gel last week in the win against Miami that our entire team has looked better. Who would have thought that in a game between our Eagles and the Jets, that our team would come out as the dominate defensive team.

There are many people in the city of Philadelphia that blame the defense for every loss but this 45-19 masterful defensive win makes everyone stand up and applaud, not only the defense but also Defensive Coordinator Juan Castillo.

Castillo said after the game that the guys, defense, have finally got the base packages together and that is what has led to some of the success we’ve seen on our tv screens.

While we have a lot to be cheerful about were still a team that is 6-8 looking for help in the form of losses by two of our rival teams in order to make the playoffs. I know everyone wants to feel all warm and fuzzy but even players are taught that you’re not as good as you think, nor as bad as you think. In other words, stay focused on the big picture.

The big picture for the Eagles is winning these last two games regardless of what happens with the Giants and the Cowboys. If they manage to do that then the question presents itself as to wether or not Andy Reid should stay as the Head Coach, or has Juan Castillo shown enough improvement to remain as the Defensive Coordinator?

Instead of guessing, let’s start the conversation now.

If the Eagles finish 8-8 (due to a four game winning streak) does Andy Reid stay?

If the Eagles defense performs well versus the Cowboys and Washington Football Team to end the season, does Juan Castillo remain as the Defensive Coordinator?
