As bad and things felt in Eagle nation after the embarrassing loss to the Seattle Seahawks Thursday night, things started to turn our way the rest of the weekend. I know of the saying “Misery loves company” and guess what, Im happy that both the New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys took “L’s” this week also.

It can be hard for us fans of the Philadelphia Eagles to rationalize why our team is underperforming week in and week out. It becomes even more difficult when we have outsiders in the form of Giants and Cowboys fans ridiculing us and proclaiming how much better than us they are.

There is another saying that is tried and true, “Pride before destruction” and the Giants and Cowboys have routinely fell victim to this. All of us are smart enough to know that our fandom doesn’t affect the teams performance. We may set a good atmosphere at the game but in actuality our like or dislike of a team is based on the opposing fans.

With that said, it was an amazing feeling to watch the hated Dallas Cowboys suffer a heart wrenching overtime loss to the lowly Arizona Cardinals. All the talk about how they are the best team in the NFC East, even though we already beat them, had Cowboys fans crashing back to earth.

I don’t know if you realized this, but the Cowboys loss set a lot of things back in order in the sports world. Tiger Woods won his first tournament in over two years with a victory at the Chevron World Challenge. Maybe this fortunate turn of events can jump start some success from our Eagles.
