Many of us deem reality television as foolish, useless, and unintelligent. Ironically, there are in fact more than a few reality television stars who went to college and graduated. Here’s list of some reality stars that have college degrees.

Jennifer Williams of VH1’s Basketball Wives of Miami attended the University of Maryland and Fairleigh Dickerson University where she then graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science. Pretty impressive!

The Real Housewives of Atlanta’s proclaimed “southern belle”, Phaedra Parks is a decorated “lawyer to the stars” and receoved her bachelor’s degree in communications from esteemed school Wesleyan College, and her law degree from University of Georgia.

Can you guess which Kardashian sister got her degree in theater arts and minored in Spanish from University of Arizona in 2001? The oldest of the ‘Kardashian Klan’, Kourtney Kardashian did. She’s not the only Kardashian to hit the books as her brother Rob graduated in 2009 from their late father’s alma mater, University of Southern California with a degree in business.

First getting his stardom from being a contender on VH1 reality show, “I Love New York”, David Otunga better known as Punk, received his bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Illinois. He then went on to Harvard Law School and practiced law in Chicago before hitting it big.

Even though in the lastest episode of “Love and Hip Hop” she’s beefing with Chrissy and may be on the chopping block as Jim Jones’ manager, this Howard University alum wasn’t always a reality TV star. Yandy Smith started as an intern fresh out of college with a degree in business management, and worked her way up to being president of a company where she was once an executive assistant.

The most surprising degree holders of reality television stars come from the cast of the highly popular MTV show Jersey Shore. Her “gov’ment” is Jenni Farley but you know her as JWOWW who received her bachelor’s degree in graphic design from New York Institute of Technology. Oh, and then has a second bachelors in computer programming. Who knew?

Another Jersey Shore cast member, Vinny Guadagnino, graduated with a 3.9 GPA from CUNY Staten Island with a degree in political science and has applied to law school while filming the show.

Despite the craziness that goes on in reality television, these reality stars have certainly gone against the misconception that reality stars aren’t smart. Regardless if our assessments of reality television are correct or not, these reality stars have proven that life after reality TV is inevitable and education is indeed valuable.
