Philadelphia – After experiencing tremendous growth with both unique visitors and page views, TheBeatofPhilly.com continues a great 12-month run with a nomination for Best Radio Station Website of the Year! The recognition comes from industry trade publication Radio Ink, and the online home of Radio One/Philadelphia’s WPHI (100.3 The Beat) has been nominated alongside News/Talk WTOP/Washington, DC’s WTOP.com and Sports WEEI/Boston’s weei.com in the markets 1-10 category. In addition to being appreciative of the recognition, TheBeatofPhilly.com team is honored to be included in a category, which is inclusive of all radio formats—not just Urban. Sister station WHTD (Hot 102.7)/Detroit was nominated in the Most Original Database/Digital Marketing Campaign category.

“It’s clear there are a lot of talented people in our industry, and a lot of companies who are NOT letting the Internet pass them by,” Radio Ink states about its 2011 Digital Award Finalists. “We’ve pored over the many nominations, and we’ve selected the finalists for the 2011 Radio Ink Digital Awards. It’s time to recognize and reward the people, stations, and companies that drive the industry in new media.”

TheBeatofPhilly.com is maintained by Online Editor Darnella Dunham, whose primary duties are to upload content daily, keep track of site analytics, and maximize search engine optimization (SEO) and social media optimization (SMO). In addition, Dunham copyedits the contributions to TheBeatofPhilly.com by the on-air line-up of 100.3 The Beat, which includes Star & Buc Wild, Michael Shawn, Kendra G, Mia Mendez, DJ Caesar, and the personalities of “Batcave Radio.” The remainder of the Radio One/Philadelphia digital team consists of Digital Support Coordinator Nick Richie and Digital Sales Manager Ed Gershman. 100.3 The Beat is programmed by Boogie D.

In March, TheBeatofPhilly.com posted record highs by surpassing 1 million page views (37% increase) and reaching 124,668 unique visitors (25%) for the month. These surges are consistent with what’s been happening for the past year: TheBeatofPhilly.com has risen 624% and 317% with page views and unique visitors, respectively.

The details of the judging 2011 Radio Ink Digital Awards have not been disclosed and the full list of nominees is here.
