Michael VickMichael Vick has spoken out against a mobile application for Android phones called “Dog Wars.”  The app allows users to train, water, feed, and fight virtual dogs against each other.

“I’ve come to learn the hard way that dog fighting is a dead-end street,” Vick said in a statement posted on the website for the Humane Society of the United States. “Now, I am on the right side of this issue, and I think it’s important to send the smart message to kids, and not glorify this form of animal cruelty, even in an Android app.”

Michael Vick was at the center of a 2007 investigation of a dog fighting ring being held on property that he owned.  Vick served a 23 month sentence and was forced to forfeit the property where the dog fighting ring occurred.
