Last month Radio-Info.com reported that Miss Jones, aka Jonesy, would return to the New York airwaves every Saturday to host “Jonesy’s Kiss List Countdown” on WRKS (98.7 Kiss FM). The same site is now reporting that Jonesy will not be joining the station after all.
98.7 Kiss FM is owned by Emmis, the parent company of Hot 97—the station that currently employs DJ Mister Cee and employed Jonesy until 2008. After being arrested for lewd conduct stemming from his alleged sexual encounter with a transsexual in public, Mister Cee has been the subject of many morning shows, but Jonesy reportedly went in on her former coworker hard body.
Emmis has shown it’s support for Mister Cee by keeping him on the air after his arrest, and Hot 97 staffers like Funkmaster Flex have been aggressive about defending Cee’s honor. Did Joney’s words on Philly radio lead to her super early exit from Kiss? But the more important question is: Did Jonesy’s weekend shift at Kiss reveal her lack of commitment to her Philadelphia audience?
