It seemed like for a few years, the world loved to hate Gwyneth Paltrow. Maybe it was the fact that she dated Brad Pitt, was BFF’s with Madonna, had a major envy-inducing bikini body, married a rock-star AND won an Oscar. Or maybe it was her horrific choice of baby names (Apple, anyone?) or the fact that she decided to pen a blog, teaching us mere mortals how we could improve our lives.

In fact, come to think of it, it was probably the last one. GOOP, her blog, was universally panned, with one New York Times writer going in hard on the health and lifestyle blog, going so far as to suggest it should be renamed “Learn From Me, Ungrateful Peasant.” In the last few years though, the public’s attitude to Gwyneth seems to have softened, whether it be through her appearances on smash hit “Glee” or the right amount of cred her friendship with Beyonce and Jay-Z has brought.

And now we have one more reason to get off the “I hate Mrs. Coldplay” bandwagon. She recently interviewed none other than Jay-Z on GOOP, asking him about his new amazing website Life + Times, which covers everything from art, to music, technology, design, sports, leisure, and style, his favorite style (Marc Jacobs) and how he became the “the coolest man on Earth.”

Of being the world’s coolest man, he replied; “I’m around great women, starting with my mom. Women keep men cool. The hotter the chick the cooler the guy … that sounds like a really bad rap line!” Very cool answer indeed, but I guess from the world’s coolest guy, what else did we expect?
